In an effort to be the last man standing on the ballot,
Republican Byron “Low Tax” Looper murdered his
Tennessee State senate opponent, Tommy Burks. Looper
changed his middle name from Anthony to “Low Tax” for the
ballot. He was sentenced to life without parole.

September 2000

Pennsylvanian State County State Representative, Republican
Thomas Druce pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of accident
after running over and killing a pedestrian with his SUV.

Druce was also convicted of tampering with evidence and
insurance fraud arising from this event. He was paroled after two
years.

Former campaign staffer of Governor Mitt Romney
and Republican candidate to the Iowa state
legislature, Republican Matthew Joseph Elliott was
listed as a pedophile. He is now charged with murder
of an infant. Police ruled the case a homicide on Jan.
24 after investigators received an autopsy report that
showed his victim died of head injuries.
